Read About Our 2020 Year End Appeal

Dear Friend:

December 2020 has brought challenges to us all. Covid-19 has presented so many difficulties in areas of health, the economy, employment, virtual work and school, social distancing, and stay-at-home orders. We truly hope 2021 will be a better and brighter year for everyone!

Despite these challenges, the San Fernando Valley Youth Chorus:

  • Expanded its new Kinder Choir program, bringing the joy of music and movement to children ages 4-7.

  • Provided weekly virtual rehearsals to keep kids singing, connecting, and learning together.

  • Conducted our Spring Concert through Facebook live, providing the opportunity for a “long distance” audience to see and hear our wonderful choristers perform the songs they had learned over the virtual January through May season.

  • Offered a free Virtual Summer Song Camp to provide singing and lifting of spirits during a very different summer vacation season.

Our choristers have learned to sing and work together even though they are apart. They are stronger than they ever knew they could be, and sing to create joy and harmony in challenging times.

Your support helps raise the voices of the kids of the San Fernando Valley Youth Chorus and brings the gift of music to young people of our community. Due to the impact of the pandemic, we provided an increased number of scholarships to children of working parents this past year. Please consider a tax-deductible donation to the Chorus this holiday season. Your gift will provide music, hope and a brighter 2021 to young singers. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
Joy Shahan
